FLORAL CITY, FL — A quiet Tuesday morning was shattered when emergency crews discovered a body inside a burning home on East Hawk Lane. As the smoke cleared, the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) declared the scene a homicide and identified a 37-year-old man as the primary suspect currently on the run.
The Incident: Tuesday, April 7, 2026
At approximately 6:30 AM, Citrus County Fire Rescue and deputies responded to reports of a structure fire near the intersection of East Hawk Lane and South Owl Terrace.

The Discovery: Once the flames were suppressed, first responders located one deceased individual inside the residence.

The Shift: Based on evidence found at the scene, Sheriff David Vincent officially reclassified the incident from a fire investigation to a homicide investigation.

The Suspect: Authorities have identified William Michael Larsen (also referred to in records as Larson) as the man wanted in connection with the death and the fire.

The Vehicle: He is believed to be driving a 2014 white GMC pickup truck with Florida license plate 85FCXM.
