Chris passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 5, 2026, alongside his father, Chris \u201cStanley\u201d Whitmer I, and his uncle, Ronald G. Whitmer \u2014 a tragedy that has left an immeasurable void in the hearts of everyone connected to the Whitmer family.<\/p>\n

At 51 years old, Chris leaves behind a legacy built on love, family, hard work, and the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. Though his passing came far too soon, the impact he made throughout his life will continue to live on through the family he adored, the friendships he built, and the lives he touched every day.<\/p>\n

A Life Rooted in Love and Family<\/h2>\n

Born on August 28, 1974, in Spain, Chris was the beloved son of Chris \u201cStanley\u201d and Beverly (Forshee) Whitmer I. From an early age, family was at the center of his life, and that devotion never changed. He carried deep love and respect for his parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren, always making sure the people closest to him knew how much they meant to him.<\/p>\n

Chris was the kind of man whose presence brought comfort and strength to others. He valued loyalty, togetherness, and creating meaningful moments with family. Whether gathered around for holidays, spending time outdoors, or simply enjoying each other\u2019s company, Chris treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by the people he loved most.<\/p>\n

Above all else, Chris loved his family fiercely.<\/p>\n

A Devoted Husband and Loving Father<\/h2>\n

Chris shared a beautiful life with the love of his life, Tasia LaFave. Their marriage was built on love, companionship, and years of cherished memories together. Through life\u2019s joys and challenges, they stood side by side, creating a life centered on family, love, and unwavering support.<\/p>\n

To his children, Coey and Cole Whitmer, Chris was much more than a father \u2014 he was a role model, protector, supporter, and source of unconditional love. He took immense pride in watching his children grow and build lives of their own. His guidance, humor, and steady presence will forever remain part of who they are.<\/p>\n

One of Chris\u2019s greatest joys in life was becoming a grandfather. His grandchildren \u2014 Claire, Clay, and Cami \u2014 brought light and happiness into his world. He loved spending time with them, making memories, sharing laughter, and embracing every moment he could as \u201cGrandpa.\u201d The bond he shared with them was filled with warmth, pride, and unconditional love.<\/p>\n

A Hardworking and Genuine Man<\/h2>\n

Chris spent several years working as an operator at Dow Chemical<\/span><\/span>, where he was respected for his dedication, strong work ethic, and reliability. He believed in working hard, providing for his family, and doing things the right way.<\/p>\n

Friends and coworkers remember Chris as genuine, dependable, and easy to be around. He had a personality that made people feel comfortable, and he valued honesty and loyalty in every aspect of his life.<\/p>\n

Though he worked hard throughout his life, Chris also understood the importance of enjoying the simple things that brought him peace and happiness.<\/p>\n

Chris found joy in the outdoors, especially through hunting and fishing \u2014 passions that brought him relaxation, excitement, and precious time with family and friends. Whether sitting quietly near the water, sharing stories during hunting trips, or simply enjoying nature, those moments reflected the kind of life Chris appreciated most: authentic, grounded, and surrounded by people he loved.<\/p>\n

Chris leaves behind his loving wife, Tasia; his children, Coey (Allie) Whitmer and Cole Whitmer; his cherished grandchildren, Claire, Clay, and Cami; his brothers, Dennis (Melissa) Whitmer and Adam (Melissa Olney) Whitmer; his mother, Beverly Whitmer; as well as Jacob Nixon, Brady Butler, Colton Ritchie, and Dalton Staley, along with many nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who loved him dearly.<\/p>\n

The loss of Chris alongside his father and uncle has created unimaginable grief for the Whitmer family. Yet even amid the heartbreak, loved ones continue to hold tightly to the memories, laughter, traditions, and love shared throughout his life.<\/p>\n

Chris will be remembered for his heart, his devotion to family, his hardworking nature, and the kindness and loyalty he showed to others. His life was one filled with meaning, connection, and love \u2014 the kind of legacy that cannot be erased by death.<\/p>\n

Forever Loved, Forever Remembered<\/h2>\n

Though the pain of losing Chris \u201cL.C.\u201d Whitmer II is overwhelming, his memory will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who knew him.
