Franklin Township, Mercer County, OH – April 4, 2026 — The Mercer County Sheriff’s Office is actively investigating a tragic single-vehicle crash that claimed the life of Jillian Geyer, a 41-year-old woman from Celina, Ohio. The fatal accident occurred Saturday night on State Route 219 near Hillside Court in Franklin Township.
At approximately 9:50 PM, Central Dispatch received a call reporting the crash. Sheriff Doug Timmerman confirmed that the investigation indicates the vehicle was traveling northbound on State Route 219 when, for reasons yet to be determined, it veered left of center, exited the roadway on the west side, and struck a tree. Tragically, Jillian Geyer was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Mercer County Coroner, Dr. Alyssa Tobe, along with emergency responders, were quick to arrive on the scene to assess and document the incident. The Montezuma Fire Department and Coldwater Squad 7 also assisted with the response efforts. However, despite their best efforts, they were unable to save the life of the driver.
