According to the Mason County Sheriff’s Office, emergency crews were called around 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26, to the area of Stiles and Marrison Roads in Riverton Township after reports of a motorcycle crash. When first responders arrived, they sadly found the driver deceased at the scene.

Authorities later identified the victim as 37-year-old Richard Stepka of Ludington.

Investigators believe the crash may have occurred sometime overnight and was not discovered until the following afternoon, adding another heartbreaking layer to an already devastating tragedy.

The sudden and tragic loss of Richard has left loved ones overwhelmed with grief as they struggle to process how quickly life can change.
