THE SEASONS OF EDDIE RAY STUCKEY: A LIFE OF HARVEST AND HEART

“Remembering a Father, Farmer, and Faithful Friend”

Eddie Ray Stuckey, 57, was a man who understood the rhythm of life. Born in Bloomington, Illinois, on January 16, 1969, to Billy Ray Stuckey and Patricia Earlene Woodward, Eddie eventually made his home in Judsonia, where he became a fixture of the community’s working class and a familiar face to many.

The Hands of a Hard Worker

Eddie was a man of action, not just words. He spent much of his professional life as a dedicated factory worker at the Ozark Poultry Company in Batesville. To his coworkers, Eddie was the gold standard of reliability. He held a firm belief in “completing as much work as possible during the weekdays,” a philosophy that allowed him to fully embrace his true passions when the weekend whistle finally blew.

A “Green Thumb” and a Giver’s Heart

Perhaps the most enduring image of Eddie is that of a man in his garden. He was known throughout the region for having a “green thumb,” a gift he used not for profit, but for people.

  • The Harvest: Eddie’s farming wasn’t just a hobby; it was a mission. He loved the land and the process of watching something grow from nothing.

  • The Gift: He was famous for the vegetables he grew, but even more famous for giving them away. Countless local families found their tables a little fuller because of Eddie’s generosity. He didn’t just grow food; he grew community.

Finding Peace in the Outdoors

When he wasn’t at the factory or in the fields, Eddie was often found where the air was clearest.

  • The Sportsman: He was an avid hunter and fisherman, finding peace on the water and in the woods.

  • The Music: Eddie had a zest for life that extended to the stage; he loved attending concerts and “hanging out” with friends, cherishing the simple joy of a good song and good company.

A Legacy of Faith and Family

Above all, Eddie was a man of profound gratitude. He loved the Lord and was often heard expressing his thanks for the many seasons of his life. He recognized that while life was not always easy, it was always a gift.

His greatest pride, however, was found in his children. Through every “season” of his life—the challenging ones and the joyful ones—Eddie’s love for his family remained his true north. As his family noted, “throughout each season, he was always loved by someone,” a testament to the warmth he put out into the world.

In Final Remembrance

Eddie Ray Stuckey departed this life on Monday, April 13, 2026. He leaves behind a legacy of hard work, a “green thumb” that fed many, and a heart that was always grateful for the love he received and the life he led.

“He was a man who believed in finishing the work before the sun went down, and who never let a harvest go to waste if someone else was hungry.”A tribute to Eddie’s memory

In Loving Memory: Eddie Ray Stuckey (1969 – 2026) May his fields always be green and his spirit find rest in the harvest of a life well-lived.
