Formella and Laconia Police Chief Matthew Canfield have announced the arrest of 32-year-old Christopher Garon in connection with the death of his mother, Linda Dionne, 58. Garon was apprehended at the scene of the crime and remains in custody as forensic teams process the family’s residence.

The Incident: Tuesday, April 14, 2026

The discovery was made after police were dispatched to a home in a residential neighborhood of Laconia.

  • The Call: At approximately 1:38 PM, Laconia Police officers were dispatched to 52 Old Prescott Hill Road following a request for a welfare check or a reported disturbance.

  • The Scene: Upon entry, officers discovered the body of Linda Dionne. She was pronounced deceased at the scene. Her son, Christopher Garon, was encountered by officers inside the residence and was detained without incident.

  • The Charges: Garon has been charged with one count of Second-Degree Murder. Prosecutors allege he recklessly caused his mother’s death under “circumstances manifesting an extreme indifference to the value of human life.”
