TUCSON, AZ — The Tucson Police Department confirmed the arrest of a 16-year-old male on Monday afternoon, April 13, 2026. The teen is accused of being one of the drivers involved in a street race that caused a catastrophic three-vehicle collision at the intersection of East Valencia and South Country Club roads.
The Incident: Friday, April 10, 2026
The crash occurred during the mid-day hours at approximately 1:00 PM on one of Tucson’s busiest thoroughfares.
-
The Race: Witnesses reported seeing a Hyundai Genesis and a multi-colored 2014 Dodge Charger speeding eastbound on Valencia Road. Both vehicles appeared to be racing at high velocities.
-
The Impact: As the racing vehicles approached the intersection, a mother in a Toyota Camry was attempting to make a left turn onto Country Club Road. The Hyundai Genesis struck the Camry with such force that the Toyota was split in half.
-
The Casualties: A 3-year-old girl, who was properly restrained in a car seat in the back of the Camry, sustained fatal injuries. Her mother, who is reportedly pregnant, was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries.
-
The Flight: While the driver of the Hyundai remained at the scene due to his injuries and vehicle damage, the driver of the Dodge Charger fled the area immediately after the impact.
The Suspects and Charges
Law enforcement has now apprehended both individuals allegedly responsible for the “unexplained” violence of the crash.
-
Christian Isaiah Randall (22): The driver of the Hyundai Genesis was arrested shortly after the crash. He was booked into the Pima County Jail on charges of Second-Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault, and Endangerment. His bond has been set at $500,000.

Unidentified Teen (16): The driver of the Dodge Charger was arrested on Monday after investigators located his vehicle. He has been booked into the Pima County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of similar charges related to the street race and the resulting fatality.
Investigation & Evidence
The Tucson Police Department’s Traffic Specialists utilized bystander footage and local surveillance to track the fleeing Dodge Charger.
-
Vehicle Identification: The Dodge Charger was described as having a unique multi-colored paint scheme, which assisted the public and police in locating the vehicle over the weekend.
-
Contributing Factors: Investigators stated that while the Charger did not physically strike the Camry, the driver’s participation in the high-speed race “contributed to the cause” of the fatal impact.
-
Intersection History: Residents have noted that this was the second fatal wreck at the intersection of Valencia and Country Club in 2026, leading to renewed calls for increased traffic enforcement in the area.
Community Support
The Tucson community has rallied behind the surviving mother. A GoFundMe account established to help the family with medical and funeral expenses has raised over $85,000 as of Tuesday afternoon.
